Lauren Chapman Ruiz, Senior Interaction Designer at Cooper, works to understand people and their behaviors, building the foundation for complex design solutions. The majority of her work focuses on challenges within cross-channel services, connected devices, complex data, and health/wellness. Lauren coordinates Cooper’s pro-bono consulting and education with the healthcare incubator Rock Health, where she teaches design workshops and coaches their portfolio companies. She has worked with a range of clients from startups to Fortune 100, including Covidien, Bayer Healthcare, American Eagle Outfitter, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Mondelēz International.
Prior to joining Cooper, Lauren worked at the technology design firm MAYA Design, and with the innovation firm Second Road in Australia. She exercises her passion for teaching and curriculum development as a Senior Lecturer at California College of the Arts, and as an instructor for Cooper U. In the past, she has taught at Carnegie Mellon University, and with the LUMA Institute. She frequently speaks and blogs about design: her latest conferences include EPIC, Service Experience Chicago, and AIGA Y Design.
