A native of Ohio, Megan’s passion for community-based design education was nurtured in and by the communities of East Austin, Texas, and was fully fortified during a series of design/build studios in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, where she guided the cultural immersion of U.S. architecture students. Since then, she has helped to launch three community engagement programs in Texas and in California. Megan is a Contributing Author of Architecture Live Projects: Pedagogy into Practice, a compendium of community-based design education programs, and works at CCA’s Center for Art and Public Life managing strategic community partnerships and the ENGAGE at CCA course-based community engagement program. When not geeking out about pedagogy, Megan can be found hosting Sunday dinners, hiking with her dog, or planning her next adventure using Google Sheets.
