Peter Stahl

Adjunct Professor

Peter Stahl has been Adjunct Professor of Interaction Design at CCA since 2016. His 30+ year Silicon Valley career has taken him through everything from startups and agencies to large companies such as eBay, Cisco, and AOL. He is a thought leader in interaction design, standards and patterns, and UI methodologies, and an accomplished leader of interdisciplinary product teams.

He is a highly-rated, inspiring speaker at conferences such as the Web 2.0 Expo, Information Architecture Summit, and Interaction Design Association international conference, speaking on such provocative topics as the rhythm of interaction and how to respond when someone says, "Make me say, 'Wow!'"

Prof. Stahl began his career as a software engineer, and moved into interaction design in the 1990s, when the World Wide Web was in its infancy. He holds a B.A. in music composition from Harvard, and plays oboe in Redwood Symphony in Redwood City. He also has an interest in civic engagement, and is a sought-after speaker on California ballot propositions; his long-running site on the propositions draws many thousands of visitors each election cycle.
